Whatever path you choose, take ancestral spirituality with you! If this is your foundation, you can only see prosperity and good things on that path.

Hathor Universal is rooted in the knowledge and initiation coming out of communities preserving Kemetic culture. Initiation is simply learning how a human being fits into existence or nature in order to maximize one’s contributions to the society she lives in. Just like school and family based education teaches young people how to fit and function in their society, initiation is similar and in addition it considers not just the material but fitting into the immaterial aspects of our planet and existence too.

Many people may think of Kemet as just the Ancient Egyptian civilization, however, Kemet is actually a cultural territory united under the principles and traditions that honor the order of Nature. Indigenous societies and civilizations all over the world were united under this knowledge, as Kemet encompassed Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East, among other lands.

Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig was a Dogon from the region of West Africa. He was a world renowned healer and master of many sciences and spiritual practices, as well as a cultural activist. He saw the need for those in colonized lands to have access to indigenous ancestral wisdom, and with the permission of the elders and temples preserving the knowledge, he brought the initiation to the West through a nonprofit organization called The Earth Center.

The perspectives and wisdom Hathor Universal offers is coming from diverse exposures to traditional cultures, as well as the initiation preserved by the Dogon of West Africa. It is through the application of these teachings to our lives that is helping us bridge this sacred knowledge to our modern lifestyles.

Jahzra Shemzura

A cultural activist and apprentice healer, I was born in Southern India and raised in the United States. Having many experiences interacting with people around the world, seeking spirituality and helping those that don't have a voice loud enough to be heard, I later attended University in the US becoming a lawyer with the interest of promoting and preserving indigenous culture and protecting the voiceless.

I have traveled to many villages worldwide, particularly in India and West Africa, learning and researching indigenous peoples' history and spirituality. I am an instructor of the M’TAM school of Spirituality and Philosophy and an initiate of the Kemetic priesthood as taught by the disciples of my late teacher, Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig and as taught by my current teacher, Naba Iritah Shenmira.

I have traveled throughout the US promoting indigenous culture as well while engaging in my most significant life work of being a mother of seven. Currently I reside with my family in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, West Africa, one of the many  locations of the cultural non-profits, The Earth Center and Ankhkasta Natural Healing , to which I  have dedicated my life.

Born and raised with repeated exposure to the customs and practices of indigenous culture, I come from the South of India and traveled to the United States at the age of five. Even after moving to the US, I had many significant travels back to India and was blessed with the wisdom and cultural insights my grandparents imparted on me.

As I got older I began to dig deeper into my identity and understanding myself. In addition to pursuits of self-investigation, I have always been passionate about helping others and being a positive force in the community to bring about change in situations of need. In continuing to seek, I found that healing myself would be the best way to make changes and positively influence my surroundings.

Initiation with the M'TAM School has been very beneficial and transformative while it provides a path and guidance to reclaiming our ancestral culture and understanding my roots. I am excited about not only using the knowledge I have obtained to transform myself but also to bring benefit to those who are seeking the same.

I love creative expression through art, music and design and am working to grow these talents as well!

I'm an artist on a Journey to use my creative abilities to produce art that uplifts. Born and raised on the west coast of the United States in the city of Seattle, I grew up in a diverse community where I was surrounded by art. After high school, I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. In 2005, I moved to Chicago, IL. to study under Dogon priest and healer Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, founder of The Earth Center non-profit cultural organization, where I served as the Art Director and one of the lead designers.

Coming from a mixed ethnic background, I have always had a great interest in culture and identity which led me to trace my Ancestral lineage to western Meritah (Africa). Since 2006, I've made several visits to the Motherland (Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin & Ghana) in order to continue the reclamation of my Ancestral roots and in experiencing the rich cultures and traditions, it has impacted me greatly and thus influenced my art. I hope you enjoy my work!
